National Trails Day in Pendleton
 

Friday, Saturday, Sunday May 31, June 1, 2 - "On the Oregon Trail", Pendleton - Keith May

• Friday May 31-Reception and Dinner at 6 pm Romance on the Oregon Trail Roger Blair Pendleton Overview Keith May

• Saturday June 1 - "Pendleton: The REAL West" (National Trails Day) 8:00 am - Meet for breakfast and arrange tours; 9:30 am - Pendleton Underground Tours; 11:00 am-Tour Historic homes, antique shops, etc. in Pendleton; 12:30 pm "The Blue Mountain Experience"- Keith May. Meet for carpool. Drive to Blue Mountains at Umatilla County Historical Society Downtown Pendleton Tour route will include trail sites from Blue Mountain Summit, through Meacham, Emigrant Springs State Park, Deadman's Pass, summit

of Poker Jim Hill (Mt. Prospect). The tour will include at each stop, reading from emigrants diaries about the site visited.6:00 pm Dinner - "The Trail Experience From the Women's Point of View" and Pioneer Clothing Worn by the Emigrants - Christina May Oregon Trail Ruts Slide Show - Jenny Miller

• Sunday June 2 - "The Invaders: From the Native American Perspective" 8:00 am-Breakfast; Drive to base of Poker Jim Hill and follow route of Oregon Trail back through the Reservation to Tamustalikt for a tour. 12:00-Optional lunch at the museum or drives to Echo meadow trail sites.
